Thanks for visiting our website. this policy explains the what, how, and why of the information we collect when you visit our website, or when you buy something from us. it also explains the specific ways we use and disclose that information. we take your privacy extremely seriously, and we never sell anyone’s personal data. for the sake of handiness, here’s a list of everything we cover in this massive document.

1. definitions

these definitions should help you understand this policy. when we say “we,” “us,” “our,” and we are referring to Bakehouse Dublin. A republic of ireland limited liability company. we have a two cafes, bricks and mortar shops on Bachelors Walk and also in CHQ building in the IFSC.  when we say “customer,” we are referring to a person or entity that is registered with us as someone who has purchased from us. when we say “you,” we are referring either to a customer or to some other person who visits our shops or websites. a “subscriber” is a person who is on our mailing list, which is operated by campaign monitor. “personal information” means any information that identifies or can be used to identify a customer or a subscriber, directly or indirectly, including, but not limited to, first and last name, date of birth, email address, gender, occupation or other demographic information.

2. changes
we may change this privacy policy at any time and from time to time. the most recent version of the privacy policy is reflected by the version date located at the bottom of this privacy policy. all updates and amendments are effective immediately upon notice, which we may give by any means, including, but not limited to, by posting a revised version of this privacy policy or other notice on the website.

4. information we collect
(a) information you voluntarily provide to us: when you sign up to our mailing list, buy something from us, send us an email, post on our blog, you are voluntarily giving us information that we might collect. that information may include your name, physical address, email address, ip address, phone number, location and purchase history. we do not collect other information such as credit card details,  gender, occupation, and other demographic information. by giving us this information, you consent to this information being collected, used, and stored by us, as described in this privacy policy.

(b) information we collect automatically: when you visit our website, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, ip address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. additionally, as you browse our website, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the site, and information about how you interact with the site. we refer to this automatically-collected information as “device information.” we collect device information using the following technologies:

(c) information from your making a purchase: we will receive information about how and when you make a purchase on our website, store it in log files or other types of files associated with your account, and link it to other information we collect about you. this information may include, for example, your ip address, time, date, browser used, and pages you have visited on our site. this type of information helps us to improve our services for both you and for all of our customers.
5. how do we use your personal information?
when we talk about “personal information” in this privacy policy, we are talking both about device information and order information.

we use the order information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through our website (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations).  additionally, we use this order information to:

  1. communicate with you;
  2. screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
  3. when in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

we use the device information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your ip address), and more generally to improve and optimize our site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

combined information: we may combine personal information with other information we collect or obtain about you (such as information we source from our third party partners), to serve you specifically, such as to deliver a product or service according to your preferences or restrictions, or for advertising or targeting purposes in accordance with this privacy policy. when we combine personal information with other information in this way, we treat it as, and apply all of the safeguards in this privacy policy applicable to, personal information.

6. sharing your personal information
we share your personal information with third parties to help us use your personal information, as described above.  for example we use google analytics to help us understand how our customers use our website — you can read more about how google uses your personal information here:  https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/. you can also opt-out of google analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

we may also share your personal information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

while we maintain presences on social media platforms including facebook, twitter, and instagram, we have not integrated these or installed the facebook pixel on our website, so we do not collect information from these sites on your visit to our website. our campaign monitor account is connected to our website, so we collect cookies based on your visit from any mails we send out.

our website may include links to other websites, whose privacy practices may be different from ours. if you submit personal information to any of those sites, your information is governed by their privacy policies. we encourage you to carefully read the privacy policy of any website you visit.

7. competitions and surveys

we may, from time to time, offer surveys, competitions or other promotions on our website, in store or through social media (collectively “our promotions”). participation in our promotions is completely voluntary. information requested for entry may include personal contact information such as your name, address, date of birth, phone number, email address, username, and similar details. we use the information you provide to administer our promotions. we may also, unless prohibited by the promotion’s rules or law, use the information provided to communicate with you, or other people you select, about our services.

9. our mailing list

our mailing list is compiled of names, email addresses and sometimes phone numbers of customers who have specifically requested or consented to join our list. we will never add anyone to our list without their consent. our mailing list is stored on a secure campaign monitor server.

10. do not track

please note that we do not alter our site’s data collection and use practices when we see a do not track signal from your browser.

11. your rights

if you are a european resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. if you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.

additionally, if you are a european resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above.  additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of europe, including to canada and the united states.

12. data retention

when you place an order through the site, we will maintain your order information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information. we do our best to keep your data accurate and up to date, to the extent that you provide us with the information we need to do so. if your data changes (for example, if you have a new email address), then you are responsible for notifying us of those changes. upon request, we will provide you with information about whether we hold any of your personal information. we will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as long as needed to provide you with our services. we may also retain and use your information in order to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our agreements.

13. safeguarding your information
we take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and destruction, taking into account the risks involved in the processing and the nature of the personal information.

our credit card processing vendor STRIPE payments uses security measures to protect your information both during the transaction and after it is complete. our vendor is certified as compliant with card association security initiatives, including payment card industry (pci) compliance. we can never see or save your credit card information.

14. access to your information
we will give any individual access to any personal information we hold about them within 30 days of any request for that information. individuals may request to access, correct, amend or delete information we hold about them by emailing us at orders@bakehousedublin.ie. unless it is prohibited by law, we will remove any personal information about an individual, from our servers at your or their request. there is no charge for an individual to access or update their personal information.
